What the Data Shows

Core finding: Post-Quantum Cryptography existed as a formal research programme from January 2017. For eight years it remained technically invisible — Google Trends below 5/100, public search near zero. Then, in August 2025, it crossed the structural threshold in a single month. By April 2026 it had reached 100/100 — the maximum possible score. The technology moved from specialist invisibility to peak global attention in under 12 months.

Classification status: 11 consecutive months above threshold (Aug 2025–Jun 2026). One month remains to confirm STRUCTURAL. July 2026 is the decisive month.

Three signals. Three different audiences. All pointing in the same direction — but at different speeds. This is the clearest Dual-Velocity case in the Zorthex v2.0 dataset.

Alternative t_start declared: If t_start is set to August 2024 (NIST final standards publication), L = 12 months. This is methodologically defensible but operationally misleading — it ignores eight years of institutional momentum. The January 2017 date reflects the moment PQC became a formal compliance trajectory, not merely an academic pursuit.
